Urgent Scam Alert: Protect Yourself from Fraud

We’ve been alerted to a sophisticated scam targeting Bank of Bird-in-Hand customers. Fraudsters are impersonating our Fraud Department in an attempt to steal personal and financial information.
Here’s How the Scam Works:
- Scammers call pretending to be from the Bank of Bird-in-Hand Fraud Department, warning you of suspicious activity on your account.
- They send a follow-up email or text with a link, urging you to download an app or software to “secure” your account. In reality, this gives them remote access to your device.
- Next, they instruct you to visit your local branch and withdraw cash, insisting you keep the reason secret by falsely claiming, “Our employees are involved in the fraud.”
- They stay on the phone with you during the transaction, collecting more personal information and directing you to mail the cash to them under the guise of protecting your funds.
Stay Vigilant!
- We will never ask you to download software or apps, or to withdraw cash over the phone.
- If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and contact our Customer Care team at 717-929-2366.
Your safety is our top priority. Please share this alert with friends and family to help prevent further scams.
